What up cuties.
This post talks about a lot of car stuff such as when I ran into a Porsche club meet & cruise. I also talk about Canadian politics and some psychoanalysis.
Edit, June 14, 2025: Today is my birthday and I’m at work. π₯Ή

Essay Writing Services, Citation, and Plagiarism
I’ve been getting a lot of visits from these essay writing sites on here lately. I think it’s hilarious that people use these services. If it’s for general editing of a paper you genuinely wrote, then that’s okay. But if you are a student who is hiring someone to write your school academic essays for you and pretend it’s yours, then you must be dumb LOL. I hope the university finds out and expel you. Get good and get the out of here. Why would you pay money to go to school then pay more money to have someone do school work for you? Lol.
I also sometimes get those plagiarism checker sites lurking on my blog every once awhile LOL. It’s funny because I doubt they will find anything. Out of curiosity, I once copy and pasted some of my big writings into popular plagiarism checkers and they were all like “Critical Plagiarism Detected!” and links directly to my blog. ππ
Back when I was in academia, one of the most critical essay writing skill is paraphrasing. And even when you paraphrase, you should probably still be citing some of them. I was taught by profs that if you are in doubt, you should always cite it just in case. This is especially true if you are planning to publish serious intellectual work in academia.
Obviously on this blog, you won’t see me properly cite anything other than me casually mentioning X or Y person while talking about things they said; or give reference to their quotes, etc. I rarely list page numbers and often just write by memory and random flashes of inspiration. But it’s not like I’m writing a book or anything official or special. I’m blabbering most of the time. I also make no money on here and the things I write are educational. But I guess maybe some can pass as new metaphors and new way of seeing things. π

Google AI
Uses my website as source when I search up certain things about Lacan. π€‘ I think AI will have a negative effect on education when it can summarize (or misre ad) ultra complex ideas while having the inability to have an unconscious mind. From Spivak’s words, education is a rearrangement of desire.

The High School Asian Boys Dim Sum
One of my friend from high school recently became a dad and I got a chance to meet his little boy named Oliver during a dim sum get together. He was telling me how expensive things are and how all his money are going to the little one now. Since he is a car guy and a Porsche fan, I was like, “So I guess it was either having the baby or owning a GT3 RS”. π He said he is only going to have one kid so he still has hope to own a proper race car in the future. Then he reminded me of the time when we used to go out biking and did the ding dong ditch prank where we rang the door bell and ran away from some kid’s house in high school. It wasn’t until the 10th time over a few weeks where we realized it was the wrong house. π€£π€£π€£ We were annoying little brats.
Another high school friend who I haven’t seen in a long time was also there. We used to be good friends back in junior high when we were in the same home room. He told me he got engaged, but they’re not going to officially get married. Recently, he bought a house with his partner from a builder I work for. I asked for his address to see if I worked in his house and it turned out that I didn’t. But I did the finishing for his two neighbors on both sides. π What’s funnier was back when I worked in the two houses, I saw a nice BMW M3 always parked outside where I was like, “Who leaves a brand new G80 M3 out in -30C weather like this?”. It turned out it was actually his car.π€£ After I found out, he laughed and told me his garage wasn’t finished yet and that my Golf R is probably faster. I was like no frigging way Lol. He even offered to let me drive his M3, but I declined. Too much pressure because it’s not cheap. He also lives close to me. I told him I will ride my bike to his house one day and ring his door bell just to see his scraggly pedo mustache. π

“You are quite sassy”
You should see me in my 20s. I was the king of sass. Only that I lost some of my cheekiness as I got older. Now I’m either just straight up mean or don’t say anything because I don’t have time and patience to deal with people’s shit.π

…Speaking about getting into fights
I had my first fist fight in elementary school when I was around 8 years old. It was over a piece of ice that I broke. I remember during recess in the winter months, we were all playing around and breaking ice, then some guy came over and he was like, “If you break that piece of ice, I am going to beat you up!”. I was like “Ok” *slams ice on the ground*. Then he punched me in the face. So I swung at him right back in the face LOLLL. It was technically self defence on my part.π Luckily, the fight was stopped almost immediately by a friend of mine. Even funnier? I became friends with the guy who hit me. π₯΄

I still haven’t gotten my car back π¦
I know shops are busy from all the cars they have to repair from last year’s crazy hailstorm. I don’t want to rush them because I want them to do a good job with the paintless dent repair. They also happened to send my car off to one of the best PDR shops in Calgary.
I called and asked about the status and they told me there is a delay because the roof panel is too severely damaged for PDR. They had to order a new roof panel and repaint it. But they didn’t have any in stock in Canada because my car is too new. So they had to get one shipped from outside the country. I’m not even surprised they couldn’t repair the panel. That thing looked like the surface of the moon Lol.
They also told me that since it is their mistake, they will cover the cost of my rental car when I go past the insurance coverage limit.π«‘ I knew from the beginning they wanted to PDR the whole car to avoid conventional repair. Replacing and repainting panels can never replicate the quality and production procedures of original car paint (here is a link if you want to see how the Mk8 Golfs are made). But these guys tried their best and are real homies. As long as they do a good job, I don’t mind waiting.
I still have winter tires on them and they will drive like marshmallows when I get it back Lol. I also have a set of brand new spring/summer wheels that are eagerly waiting to be installed. π

Porsche Car Meet and Cruise
I was out and about where I ran into a big group of Porsche cars in a parking lot where I instantly became a 10 year old kid at the candy shop Lol.
It was my first time seeing a 911 GT3 RS in real life. Too bad it was just about to leave when I got there. So I spoke to the owner of a Cayman 718 GT4 that parked next to it and he told me the GT3 RS is brand new that just passed its break in period.π² He told me the story where the owner got so excited just right after he passed the break in mileage and floored it passed everyone on their previous cruise Lol. But they were going on another cruise to Banff in different small groups that day. These guys were all decked out in Porsche jackets and everything too.
Then I asked if I could take a photo of his 718 GT4 and he said yes. He even took a step further and let me sit in the driver seat and took a photo of me in it with my phone.π₯Ί The moment I sat inside, I said hi to his dad who was in the passenger seat (I think? The owner was old too). I was like, “Wow, I’ve never sat in a 718 GT4 before!”. The build quality of these cars are next level. The racing bucket seats were aggressive that snugly wrapped the sides of my body while also being cushioned and comfortable. The steering wheel felt fantastic with superb build quality. It was quite low to the ground and hard to get in. I didn’t know how to open the door after the photo because I forgot the interior door handle is a strap.π It’s supposed to save weight.
I think it’s a shame that Porsche is discontinuing the gasoline 718 where it will be replaced by an EV version (it’s due to cybersecurity lol). The 718 is a great entry level Porsche and the higher trims are great track cars. I don’t think the EV version will be a hit unless they can manage the weight and it goes vroom vroom. But if there is a manufacturer that can design and build a performance EV correctly, it would definitely be Porsche. So who knows!

Motorsports
I watch motorsports every now and then. It is usually Formula 1 and Le Mans 24 hours. For F1, I usually just keep up with the scores and highlights because I don’t have time. The type of cars these teams design are next level in terms of speed and aerodynamics. Straight line speed, engine power, and reliability are important, but it is also about aerodynamic efficiency. Just like many sports cars, F1 cars are like an upside down airplane. The faster it moves, the more the car gets pushed to the ground which gives it the grip to corner at crazy high speeds. The problem is that the more down force the car makes, the more drag resistance it produces and the slower the car becomes. The challenge is to not only design a car with lots of power to overcome drag, but one that can produce more down force while reducing or minimizing drag at the same time. This is why you sometimes see sparks fly out under F1 cars when they bomb down the straights. At top speeds, the aero is pushing it so low to the ground that they scrape the track.
Building off last time, this is the main reason why the Tesla Model 3 Performance was 34 second slower than the Porsche GT3 RS on the Nurgburgring Nordschleife. I believe the GT3 RS generates near 1,900 pounds of downforce at 280km/h. Many of them also scrapes the track when going through the famous “foxhole” at the Nordschleife. Their insane down force is what allows them to attack corners at crazy high speeds.
Meanwhile the Tesla has almost no aero because it’s not a track car. It only has super fast acceleration which makes up for its slow cornering speed. If you drive the Model 3 Performance the same way you drive the GT3 RS, you will probably understeer into a wall and die in the first corner Lol. Not to mention that the Tesla will lose nearly 50% of its battery in one lap on the Nordschleife (lots of videos on YouTube). That’s actually crazy loooolll. If you full send it, a 100% charged Tesla will probably run out of batteries in 15min on the Nurburgring.
I also think Teslas are ugly. Their curves and silhouettes don’t speak to me much. The only exception is the Liberty Walk Model 3 (link). The wide body kit makes it look way better. But it’s also kind of tacky.

Australia social media ban for young kids
It’s a good law. Social media rots your brain. It’s like junk food for the mind.
Just look at my sister. LOL Just kidding. ππ
Go read a book.

The Neighborhood Street Library Book Box
Speaking of libraries and books from last time. There is a book box near my place where kids share books with the community. I think I’m going to sneak out there and throw in Hegel’s Phenomenology of Spirit and maybe a few other super difficult and influential books just to troll the kids. Who knows, maybe one of them will become the next big philosopher of the 21st century. π

Old Photos….
I was looking at old photos the other day and saw a photo of my mom when she was in her 20s. She had long black hair with slight curls to them. My first thought was, “Eashel doppelganger”. π
I saw Eashel for the first time in 43089346089346 months the other day. I thought she quit. I almost forgot how beautiful she is. Too bad she hates me and I probably won’t get to talk to her again. Maybe unless she strikes a conversation first. But I won’t count on it. She probably threw away the custom My Melody sticker that I got her.π₯² Either way, I’m not going to over think it anymore. Whatever happens will happen.
But it’s kind of sad to say, I spoke to Eashel significantly more in 5 months than I did to Renee in 6-7 years. Technically, Eashel knows me better than Renee does. π€

99% of Alberta teachers voted for a strike
I saw this on the news the other day and I’m not surprised at all. I always hear teachers complain about being overworked with cramped classrooms and the lack of support. I think the problem is two fold from the significant population growth from immigration (watch this), all the way to a shortage of funding for these public services. Not to mention how many people are moving to Alberta. One thing that the video I linked failed to explain is with such drastic population growth in Canada would also lead to drastic growth in taxes. Where did all the tax money go? I’m not implying corruption or bureaucracy or anything. I’m genuinely interested in where all the money went Lol.

Alberta Separatists…
Just move to the USA. Some of you have become the snowflakes that you complained about from the “opposition” parties (they’re hardly opposites). If election results made you so upset, maybe put a few more “Fuck Trudeau” and “Fuck Carney” stickers on your lifted trucks. I will still think you are a masculine big penis man.π₯Ή
And no, I didn’t vote Liberal or Conservatives. I voted for popcorn. π₯΄

Canada’s Election and Socialism
During the election, I had someone tell me he is a socialist and voted liberal. I also had a friend’s friend being surprised that the Liberal party in Australia is considered right wing.
The Liberal Party of Canada is not a socialist party. They are right wing neoliberal capitalists and are centrists at best. There are no socialist parties in Canada. Neither is Canada a socialist country; though it has some socialist characteristics such as its health care system and its equalization program. By formal definition, socialism is when workers owns the means of production. But if the workers owns the means of production, this means that surplus value (profit) and investment banking should also cease to exist. Does this sound like Canada? Nope Lol.
Sometimes I hear people say that socialism is about giving back wealth to the classes that are below the elite. I think this is a fair statement because socialism still embodies a lot of characteristics of capitalism where it maintains social classes. And in some cases, there are policies in Canada that tries to do this (debatable). Socialism is a murky term and people have different positions and definitions for it. A more broad take on socialism is that it seeks to shift out of capitalist modes of production.
But it makes me giggle how the Conservative Party of Canada refers to the Liberals as leftists because they aren’t. They even sometimes refer to them as communists LOL. Liberalism was invented by John Locke, a British empiricist philosopher, who took positions that supported right wing ideas like private property; an idea that many left Marxist positions reject—especially when it came to who owns the means of production. You will also see prominent ideas on liberalism from philosophers like John Stuart Mill, whose father James Mill, happen to influence Karl Marx.
Nowadays, people makes the mistake to think that if something is owned by the state/provincial government, then it must be owned by the public—even if the state functions not much differently to private property.
Some of these politicians are almost as lost as one of my profs from grad school who called herself a leftist and votes liberal. But she also didn’t like me very much.π Some people likes to fit me into whatever boxes they got going in their mind and are often wrong. While the liberals occasionally have leftist policies, they really are right wing at heart. They like to masquerade themselves as left wing which is similar to the NDP. Though I would say that the NDP was more left than the liberals some years ago. But I don’t think they’re leftists these days.
I keep saying I have a new post on Marx, but I’ve been stuck in a writer’s block. π I’m also lazy lol. It’s super close. I just need to iron out a few sections. If you think people like Derrida or Lacan are radical and controversial thinkers, you just wait. I think some people will need to forget everything they think they know about “left wing politics” after they read it.

The Toxic Love Canal
Something many people can relate. Love is like the annoying and pain in the ass things your partner does all the time that drives you crazy. Yet, you still stay with them and love them. And once they’re gone, you miss them being annoying to you. But it is the other person’s imperfections, weird or annoying things that we love. Lacan once famously referred to this experience as our “toxic love canal”. It metaphorically describes “toxic wastes” from the Other’s desires which pollutes our love for the other person—such that they are not like what we thought they were when we first met them. Desire warps our views of them.

No lack without the Symbolic: The Subject and the Unconscious
Last time I spoke of how the subject speaks through language and that without symbolic language, there would be no lack. One mistake people make when trying to understand this is that the subject never appears within language, they’re always missing in it. The moment one speaks, they take up the Other’s discourse and their desires. The symbolic Other might say something that is completely opposed to the subject’s desires. It is just like the hysteric who unconsciously says, “I am who you want me to be”. What we perceive to be our subjectivity or as who we are is not who we really are underneath. The subject has no “substance” in the surface of reality (“sub” in “substance” lies underneath the surface). Yet, the subject can only appear through this surface of the symbolic like they are filtered through it. Hence the “impossible subject”. With conscious knowledge (symbolic; language, etc.) produces the experience of what lies unconscious—just like learning that there are books missing on the library bookshelves after we learn the Dewey decimal system.
In Lacan’s mathemes, the subject is represented through the relations between S1 and S2. The subject lies underneath the Other’s knowledge who speaks. Every once awhile, this subject will surface into our everyday speech that people interprets as “mistakes”, even when they’re not mistakes. For example, if you ask psychoanalysts, one of the most common Freudian slips they hear during analysis from heterosexual male married men is mistakenly calling their wife as their mother. It’s like how my dad calls my mom the same way and tone of voice as he calls my grandmother. I always tease him about it. π
As Jacques-Alain Miller might put it, the subject implies the word “sub-” which means “going under”. The word “subject” is derived from the Latin term “Subjectum” which is translated from the Greek word “hypokeimenon”, which means “underlying substance”—or what lies under consciousness. When we hear someone say that something is “subjective” to “individual” preference, it implies not what is chosen by the subject via symbolic, for subjectivity does not exist there. It is like how the word “individual” is derived from Latin “indΔ«viduum” as in “undivided” where the subject has not been split/divided by the Other. But since we are split subjects, there is no such thing as the individual or subject at the symbolic level. The individual/subject has been killed off by the Other where they can only reveal themselves through occasional instances such as the Freudian slip: truths that we perceive as mistakes; which are also in some cases, mistakes that we perceive as truth—sort of like a scientist who accidentally discovers a new element.
Our “subjective” preferences are actually the Other’s desires who obliterates the subject/individual as they go through the filter. We desire what the Other/Society/Law/Friends/Parents desires, they’re not what the subject actually desires (a misrecognition). And what the subject actually desires has gone missing (lack), and are found elsewhere underneath these symbolic signifiers/words. Hence, there is no lack without the symbolic. And it is through the recognition of lack or misrecognition where love is found. Subjectivity is not about the choices of our everyday life, but unrealized choices which are made underneath the conscious speaking subject that goes unrecognized. There are no mistakes!
The Other command’s our desire, the subject wants a piece of that jouissance (pleasure and satisfaction), but the subject can only have small parts of it where the other parts are missing because our desire is the Other’s desire.
